Inclusive territories and cities to leave no one behind

Under the theme Territories and cities including to leave no one behind, this edition of the Congress will address the relationship of cities and territories to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and advocate for renewing a New Social Contract. It will reflect on the need and potential of interventions that address social inequalities to achieve cohesive and sustainable cities and territories, with the New Urban Agenda as a tool to manage the opportunities of cities.
The programme will have the participation of international experts from UN-Habitat, the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD), the European Commission, United Cities and Local Governments (UCLG), as well as representatives of the Government of Spain, Government of the Basque Country and other autonomous communities, academia, etc.
The program will begin with an introductory presentation followed by four sessions:
Session 1: Addressing the social gap: a view from the territory and the city
Session 2: Balanced territories: prosperity and opportunities in the urban-rural continuum
Session 3: More sustainable cities: social inclusion and equity
Dialogue: A new social contract to achieve more sustainable and cohesive territories and cities.
